Anderson High School Dance

About us...

The Anderson dance department is open to all students, regardless of previous training.  Novice dancers and skilled dancers alike will find a place in the dance department.  We offer four years of dance training: Level I - IV with our upper level Dance III & IV courses available for honors credit.  Students can earn P.E. or fine arts credit for successful completion of the first two levels of dance and can earn elective or fine arts credit in levels III and IV.  Dance classes cover jazz, ballet, tap, modern, and hip hop styles along with a variety of general health, fitness and wellness concepts.  All students perform in our Winter Dance Concert and our Dance III & IV students are also featured in the Trojan Belles Spring Show.

Our exciting Dance Guard program is the next step for dancers seeking a more intense focus on dance performance and dance technique.  Dance Guard is open to all students 9-12.  Our Dance Guard performs with the Trojan Marching Band and in the Winter Dance Concert and Trojan Belles Spring Show.  Dance Guard is the required preparation course for students planning to try out for the Trojan Belles Dance Team.

The Trojan Belles Dance Team is comprised of approximately 40 advanced dancers.  Tryouts are held in November.  Current 9-11 graders who are members of Dance Guard are eligible to audition to join the team officially in the summer following tryouts.  The Belles rehearse year-round and perform at varsity football games, pep rallies, and their annual Spring Show.  Each February they compete at dance competitions across the state.  For more information about the Belles, please visit www.TrojanBelles.com.
